Welcome to African Mountain Adventures

African Mountain Adventures focuses on providing adventure in mountains in a safe responsible way. This adventure may encompass hiking in a mountainous area or rock climbing/abseiling or mountain biking or camping or photographic expeditions in a mountainous area or a combination of the above. Should the visitor be skilled in these endeavours then African Mountain Adventures will facilitate the adventure. Should the visitor feel in need of some training then African Mountain Adventures will provide this as part of the expedition and included in the price of the expedition. African Mountain Adventures tries to avoid the use of hotels focusing rather on camping. All activities are performed in compliance with the principals of responsible ecotourism. Our Latest Expeditions

During the winter months of 2006, we plan to visit the new climbing area reported on by Keith James and Tony Lourens in the March 2006 issue of the SA mountain magazine (Desert Rocks). The area is close to the Norotshama River Lodge in Namibia on the banks of the Orange River. You will obviously need valid passports to get there and we offer Camping, Traditional climbing (It looks like there are some good trad lines), Sport climbing, Hiking, Bird watching and one day trips down the Orange River and general chilling next to the river.
We also plan, during the winter months, to visit the Namib Naukluft Park, the Gross Spitzkoppe and Pontok mountains as well as The Brandberg Nature Reserve.
